Care of Creation One of the benefits of our new building will be the opportunity to build "green" as much as possible. We do so out of a respect for and care about creation. We have agreed to a relationship with the Solar Liberty company of Buffalo to install solar panels on the flat roof of our educational building. The solar panels will be leased, at a monthly cost of $100. We are guaranteed, in writing with Solar Liberty to save money on our electric utility costs. We anticipate saving $1,500 each year. The solar panels will provide electricity to our entire facility, with any deficit due to cloudy weather provided by the power company. We will be saving money, which in itself is an undeniable benefit. In addition, the witness of paying attention to using a renewable resource that helps conserve the resources of creation is our Christian calling as the people of God. As we celebrate the season of Easter and look forward to Pentecost, we also give thanks for the blessings of creation. We do so with our actions, in thanks to God. Peace, Pastor John Crossbeam, June 2011 Saint John's Lutheran Church, West Seneca NY
