K-SOLAR, a joint program of the New York Power Authority (NYPA) and New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), will provide NYS school districts, AT NO COST and NO OBLIGATION, with the tools, and expertise to bring solar energy to their facilities and reduce their energy costs.
SOLAR IN NYS SCHOOLS This historic energy program inspires the next generation of energy leaders and empowers kindergarten through high school (K-12) facilities statewide to save money and lower their carbon footprint by procuring affordable solar energy. Over 300 school districts, representing 35% of the state, have expressed an interest in and have availed themselves of the benefits available under K-Solar.
ENERGY COST SAVINGS Now is a unique time for schools in New York to take advantage of energy cost savings through solar power. The New York Power Authority (NYPA) has eliminated the technical, financial, and organizational challenges of adopting solar energy by doing all the upfront work for school districts in New York State.
